The archetypes defined and discussed in the following pages do not
represent any new-found psychological theory, but rather an amassing of
first-hand data by both authors who have been, and still are, public school
educators. The two authors have cumulative teaching experience that spans
nearly forty years. Principles of Principals profiles five contrasting archetype
pairings and suggests how to: (1) identify an archetype, and (2) work with the
various types of principals in schools.
