Description

This mountain man knows his way around the woods. And how to use his hands.

Jenna:

I'm a big city girl hiding out in the tiny town of Whiskey River. I'm a runaway bride, hiding from my ex and my family.

The shy, virgin mountain man who sells handmade wooden furniture in town doesn't seem like he would try to control me the way my family did.

He's strange and beautiful.

Phoenix:

There's a reason I live in the woods all alone.

People confuse me. Women especially. Trees don't give mixed signals. Rocks aren't impossible to read. I work with my hands and keep my life uncomplicated.

Then she complicates things. With her, it's not hard to let down my guard and view the world through her artist's lens.

But I've been burned before. A beautiful city girl will never be happy here.

I know my way around the woods. Gorgeous women are a whole other story.

I’ve been reading this series and they are very well written. I always hate when the books end but am excited to read the next one. Great stories and the characters seem real.

Book 2 of the Mountain Men series was just what I expected it to be. Fun, sweet & spicy, and full of love! I really loved getting to know Jenna and Phoenix in this book, their HEA was touch and go for a bit but, I knew they’d get there eventually. I also loved that we got more of Emelie and Axel in this book too! I think the author did a great job of incorporating these characters really well while still giving them their own story and character traits. I’m really liking this series and can’t wait to read book 3!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Booksprout and I am voluntarily reviewing it. While this is part of a series, you don't have to read the prior one to fully understand and enjoy this one. I will say though that this book is written in mostly a dual POV format but Emelie (from the first book does have an occasional POV here as well. If you are like me, you may want to read it first.) I really enjoyed this second book of the mountain men that reside in Whiskey River, MN. They are rough, rugged but with a heart of gold when they meet up with their soulmate. Jenna escapes her life in Denver to come to Whiskey River to live. Her rich parents have run her life to the point where she almost says "I do" to a man that doesn't love her nor she him. Phoenix is a man that chose the remote location after his parents died on his 18th birthday. He is socially awkward and humble but makes the most gorgeous wood furniture. Jenna goes to a local store to get ideas for furnishing her new cabin and meets Phoenix. As the two spend time together, the sparks just fly between them. This is a very sexy story. I did enjoy this one and look forward to the next installment of the group!

The first book by Kaci Rose that I read was Take Me To The River and, let me tell you, I was hooked!!! Take Me To The Cabin sucked me in from page one. I didn’t stop till the end. I wish I could write even half as well as Ms. Rose. I love the characters and the storyline. It has it all. Heat, fun, sad, happy, love,…everything!

I’m enjoyed Kaci Rose’s new mountain man series. She takes a unique writing approach by including multiple POVs not just the main characters. It gives an extra layer of story that includes characters from the previous book. You will still be able to read this book as a standalone if you haven’t read “Take Me To The River” already but you will get more out of the story if you read them in order. I liked Phoenix. He’s a shy mountain man virgin who’s lived on his own since he was eighteen. He meets Jenna when she moves away from her city life to start over in the mountains. She wants to purchase custom furniture from him and from their first meeting there is a deeper connection. This romance is a slow burn before it is high heat. I loved how patient Phoenix wanted to be. Not wanting to risk his heart or have his first without knowing there was a future there. There is some drama with her ex, her parents, and whether or not she will actually leave behind her city life for good. This added a nice layer of drama to the journey the characters take. They will have to fight for their HEA. The supporting characters were also terrific. I’m really looking for to the next book in this series that focuses on Cash. A charming love story. I loved Jenna and Phoenix’s story! A reclusive mountain man and girl on the run from her life. I really enjoy how the characters from the previous book in the series are incorporated into this one. Looking forward to more books in the series. This book was so good - I just loved it!! City girl, Jenna, meets mountain man, Phoenix. For such an unmatched couple, they work together. Jenna leaves the big city to make a life for herself. She ends up in Whiskey River and loves it. She know that she doesn’t fit in at first but does her best to adjust. Phoenix enjoys his privacy but is taken by Jenna immediately. He’s certain that she won’t stay but falls in love with her anyway. He even pushes her away and tells her to leave. They cannot be without each other. This author tells a wonderful story. I have enjoyed some of her other books and hope others will discover her. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a really great story by Kaci Rose. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series. I enjoyed all these mountain men and I am looking forward to seeing them find their mates. Jenna has come to Whiskey River for a new start. She had left her old life behind. She is excited to live in this quiet mountain town. She meets Phoenix while shopping and can’t take her eyes off him. Phoenix is intrigued by her but he is also hesitant. He doesn’t have the best luck with women in the past. Will they be able to work together to discover that they are meant to be together? I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
