Description

From New York Times bestselling authors Karin Slaughter and Lee Child comes this electrifying short story featuring their iconic characters Will Trent and Jack Reacher.

Twice the action.

Twice the drama.

Double the trouble.

Will Trent is undercover at Fort Knox. His assignment: to investigate a twenty-two-year-old murder. His suspect’s name: Jack Reacher.

Jack Reacher is in Fort Knox on his own mission: to bring down a dangerous criminal ring operating at the heart of America’s military. Except now Will Trent is on the scene.

But there’s a bigger conspiracy at play—one that neither the special agent nor the ex-military cop could have anticipated. And the only option is for Jack Reacher and Will Trent to team up and play nicely. If they can…

Great SHORT STORY…..but paying $9.99 for less than 2hrs of reading material is not a good value. Publisher/Apple should be more transparent with the pricing. I thought I was purchasing a novel. It was a very quick read for the price of a novel.

I would love to see a whole book written with these two characters working together, it could be excellent. This was a decent read, but not a great book.
  • Good Book So Far

Really good so far. I like the interaction between Reacher and Ward!
  • Not a true Karin Slaughter style...

This was obviously influenced by another author. I’m accustomed to Karin’s writing style and subject matter, and this book doesn’t even come close. Just because Will Trent is mentioned doesn’t mean this is an equal work between Slaughter and Childs. Karin’s style is lost as this book reads more like Childs’s agenda. Hopefully, next time she collaborates with another writer she will assert more of her style into the work.

I was unsatisfied at the “ending”. I didn’t pay for a sample of two books. I paid for a sample of one. Never again will I be suckered into buying into a sample.

This short story is only 51 pages, not 98 pages as described. A very short story with an abrupt, unsatisfying ending. Followed by sample chapters from the The Last Widow. So almost half of this book is a sample that is already available in The Kept Woman, and as a sample for the soon to be published book. Very misleading. Don’t waste your money.

Great story. Can’t wait for the Last Widow.
