Description

From the Introduction:

If you are an outdoor or nature photographer looking for a practical guide to using Adobe Lightroom to complete your images of the landscape, then this may be the guide for you. If you are looking for a book that will tell you all the tricks, details, short-cuts, and capabilities of the program, then by all means, look elsewhere.

In this ebook I’ll cover the step by step post-processing in Lightroom 5 of seven landscape images. Earlier versions of this program (and presumably future), have most of the same capabilities. Some of these images are straight-forward, some are less-so, and each involve different strategies and tools to yield the completed image. You’ll find descriptive text and highlighted images of the Lightroom workspace to guide you. There are also two video tutorials introducing you to the program, and a third video that follows the entire process of editing an image start to finish.
Along the way, I’ll discuss my own vision for the photos, where I was, and what was going through my head when I clicked the shutter. There will be some advice on establishing your own vision for your images and some notes on landscape composition, black and white, night photography, and even the aurora borealis.

Last, I want to emphasize that nothing I write here is a rule. Rather, what I’m demonstrating are the tools that I use as I move from a camera-fresh image to a completed photo ready for printing, publication, or uploading to the web. Your images may require a completely different process. Use the methods here as a starting point, not a conclusion. Experiment, play, be creative.

With that, let’s dive in.
