From the Inside Flap Why I Am Writing This Book

My interest and struggles in personal growth begun at age 7, while playing truant from school. I entered a public library on my way to school, and discovered Enid Blyton’s wonderful children’s fictional books. The lifestyle and adventures of the children in her books fascinated me, and I read almost all her books by the time I was 14. Blessed with this love for reading, I set out to devour any other books I could get my hands on. By the time I was 19, I had discovered self-help and personal development books. I devoured these in search of clues to personal happiness, success, and excellence.

The more I read, the more I saw the importance of integrity in attaining real happiness and success. As I worked on developing integrity in the various areas of my life (as a student, a boyfriend, a son, a brother, a friend, as an employer, and more), I became happier within myself, and developed character and self-assuredness. I also gained the respect of others. People started to seek my advice on sensitive personal issues and I grew in leadership. I found people twice my age and more, choosing to follow me in various business enterprises. As my responsibilities grew, I needed to operate with even higher levels of integrity. Levels of integrity that I had not understood previously, became a way of life. My new goals in integrity became increasingly challenging, but I had grown into a leader who could handle them.
